Northern Railway announced twin holiday special trains to cater festival rush. Two holiday special trains started on Friday on Kalka - Shimla rail line to meet the tourist rush, an official said. The additional trains will run to and from daily on the Kalka - Shimla line. These trains would cater to the tourist rush ahead of Christmas and New Year’s eve 2015 - 2016.

Central Railway announced Special traffic and Power block in Main Line and Harbour Line. The block will be on all six lines near Kurla on 19/20.12.2015 (Saturday and Sunday midnight) for construction of 3.66 meter wide foot over bridge in connection with DC - AC conversion. Central Railway also announced two more shadow blocks together with power block. A dream fulfilled. The trial run of Kochi Metro will be in February 2016. Construction of 25 km Metro Rail from Aluva to Tripunithura began in June 2013. The entire projects is being managed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation with its principal adviser E Sreedharan overseeing it. Kerala ruling party tries to conduct at least trial run of Kochi Metro before the next Assembly Election. Only four months left for that.
