Central railways announced that have decided to extend the Special train services between Miraj and Yesvantpur to clear extra rush of passengers during the season. This train extended till 20 - 12 - 2013. Following are the details

• Train No. 06517 / 06518 Miraj – Yesvantpur Tri-weekly special:- Train No. 06518 Miraj – Yesvantpur Tri-weekly special will leave Miraj at 16.45 hrs on every Mon, Wed, Friday from 13.12.2013 to 20.12.2013 (4 trips) and arrive Yesvantpur at 06.20 hrs next day. Train No. 06517 Yesvantpur - Miraj Tri-weekly special will leave Yesvantpur at 20.40 hrs on every Sun, Tue and Thursday from 12.12.2013 to 19.12.2013 (4 trips) and arrive Miraj at 10.15 hrs next day.

Stoppages:-  Kudachi, Ghataprabha, Belgaum, Dharwar, Hubli, Davangere, Arsikere and Tumkur.

Composition :- One AC First class, one AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier, 7 Sleeper class, 5 General second class and 2 General second class cum Guard’s Brake vans.

Central railways announced that will change the train timings of Bengaluru and New Delhi Karnataka Express with effect from 01 / 02 / 2014. Following are the details 

• Train No. 12627 / 12628 Bengaluru - New Delhi Karnataka Express Between Manmad And Khandwa Stations:- Train No. 12627 Karnataka Express for New Delhi will depart Manmad station at 14.50 hrs instead of 14.55 hrs and will depart Khandwa station at 19.45 hrs instead of 19.35 hrs. Train No. 12628 Karnataka Express for Bengaluru will depart Khandwa station at 11.05 hrs instead of 11.15 hrs and will depart Manmad station at 15.15 hrs instead of 15.25 hrs.

South Central Railway announced that the Fare of Monthly MMTS / APSRTC Combined Ticket Revised. Following are the details.

Due to the increase in Bus fares by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), the fare for monthly MMTS / APSRTC combined ticket, issued by Railways at all the Hyderabad / Secunderabad MMTS stations. The Ticket fare revised from Rs.700/- to Rs.800/-. The Revised Fare is applicable from 9th November, 2013 on wards.

Western Railway announced the introduction of New Passenger train between Nadiad and Modasa. The Inaugural run will be on 26th July,2013. The Regular service of the train will start from 27/07/2013. The train will run six days a week except Friday.

South Central Railway announced New name for the Railway station in the Dhone-Secunderabad section of Hyderabad Division.

BANDRA - JAIPUR SPECIAL TRAINS ANNOUNCED

Western railways announced new special train between Bandra and Jaipur for avoiding extra rush of passengers. Following are the details

• Train No.09650 Bandra Terminus – Jaipur Urs Special  :- Train No.09650 Bandra Terminus – Jaipur Urs Special will leave Bandra Terminus at 23.35 hrs o­n 19th May 2013 and reach Jaipur at 00.05 hrs o­n 21st May 2013. This train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Sidhpur, Chhapi, Palanpur, Abu Road, Falna, Marwar Jn, Beawar, Dorai, Ajmer, Madaar and Kishangarh. The train will have AC 2 Tier, Sleeper class and Second class general coaches. The train will have 15 general coaches, one AC 2 tier and two second class sleeper coaches.

Ticket Booking for Train No. 09650 will open on Sunday, 19th May, 2013.

e-Ticket BOOKING :: STEPS TO ENSURE

Indian Railway published a press release, that describe the Dos and Don't s for booking e-tickets.Railway wants to educate people about the booking process of e-tickets.While booking e-tickets the following steps has to be ensured according to the Railway rule.

Dos for booking e-tickets through Agents

• Check if it is an authorized agent outlet
• The details of authorized agent outlets are available on IRCTC website.
• Verify that the photo Id and the authorization certificate of the agent is prominently displayed at the agent outlet.
• Fill up the booking/cancellation request slip for booking/cancellation of the e-ticket
• Always insist on your mobile number being fed into the system correctly.
• An SMS with details of your booking including fare and service charge will be received on the given mobile number, from IRCTC immediately as confirmation of booking.
• This SMS serves as a valid ticket which can even be shown to the TTE along with proof of identity during travel. Printout of ticket is not mandatory.
• If printout is generated, ensure that name of the agent outlet booking the ticket along with address, contact number and name of Principal Agent are printed on the e-ticket.
• Insist on a receipt for all bookings/cancellations.
• One of the following proof of identity in original is a must while traveling (Voter Identity Card/Passport/PAN Card/Aadhaar Card (UID)/Driving License/Photo ID Card issued by the Central/State Govt./Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized school/college for their students/Nationalized Bank Pass Book with photograph/Credit Card with laminated photograph).
• E-tickets can be cancelled through the same agent outlet without additional service charge for cancellation.

DONT's for booking e-tickets through Agents

• Do not pay more than the approved service charges which are applicable per e-ticket irrespective of number of passengers on the ticket.
• For travel by AC classes, IRCTC service charge is Rs.20/- and Agent service charge is Rs.20/-. For sleeper class and  second sitting class, the charges are Rs.10/- each for IRCTC and Agent service charge. In both the cases, Gateway charges as applicable will be added plus Service Tax on IRCTC Service Charges.
• There are no additional charges for printing of tickets or cancellation of tickets.
• If the agent demands more than the prescribed service charges, complaint may be lodged at agentcomplaint@irctc.co.in (011-23745962) or care@irctc.co.in (011-39340000)
• Do not buy e-tickets from agents during 8.00 am to 12 noon.
• The website www.irctc.co.in is open exclusively for individual users from 8.00 am to 12 noon.
• If anyone is found traveling with Advanced Reservation Period/Tatkal tickets booked by unauthorized persons/touts between the above period, the ticket is liable to be cancelled and penal action may be initiated under the Railways Act.

South Eastern Railway announced on 15-04-2013 that Railway introduced 3 New trains and will introduce 2 new trains.

New Train List

• Haldia-Anand Vihar Weekly Superfast Express 
• Santragachi-Bagnan EMU local 
• Santragachi-Panskura EMU local 
• Shalimar-Bhuj Weekly Superfast Express which will run from 20.04.2013
• Mathnasipur-Masagram DEMU Passenger which will run from 16.04.2013.

Train Details 

The Haldia-Anand Vihar Express will connect East Midnapur District of West Bengal to the National Capital 

Shalimar-Bhuj Express will provide another direct connectivity between Kolkata and Gujarat

The two pairs of new EMUs will be immensely beneficial for the people of Bagnan and Panskura.

IRCTC :: PRS ENQUIRY BLOCK on 14th / 15th APRIL, 2013

Northern Railway announced Four and a half hours PRS block during nights of 14th and 15th April,2013 in Delhi PRS from 10.30pm to 03.00am on the midnight of 14-04-2013 and 15-04-2013.

Four and Half hours PRS(Computerized Passenger Reservation System) is due to up gradation work. 

Because of the PRS Block all PRS related enquiry of Delhi PRS through IVRS/Touch Screen, Call Center (Telephone No.139) will remain closed.

The Janta Khana consists of 7 Puris of 175gm and Aloo dry curry of 150gm and pickle.

About Packing

Northern Railway also improved packing standards of the Janta Khana and is ensuring that the Aloo sabzi is packed in a plastic disposable bowl covered with silver foil and the Puris are packed in silver foil before the two are placed in a cardboard box for sale to the passengers.

Rates

Janta Khana is being sold at an economical rate of Rs. 15/- which is printed on the box and also indicated on top of the Cardboard box.

Daily 14 to 15 thousand Janta Khana is being sold on stations in Delhi area.
