KOCHI METRO : TRIAL RUN SOON

KOCHI METRO 

A dream fulfilled. The trial run of Kochi Metro will be in February 2016. Construction of 25 km Metro Rail from Aluva to Tripunithura began in June 2013. The entire projects is being managed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation with its principal adviser E Sreedharan overseeing it. Kerala ruling party tries to conduct at least trial run of Kochi Metro before the next Assembly Election. Only four months left for that.

The original deadline for commissioning of the project, June 2016, was revised after various delays. Meanwhile, the agreement between the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) and implementing agency Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to expire in June 2017.

The rails having design speed of 90 km/hour  have been tailor-made for metro trains that would attain operational speed of up to 80 km per hour. Rail-laying work for Kochi Metro is set to double its speed.

COCHIN METRO PROJECT CONSTRUCTION BY DMRC

The responsibility of the construction of Cochin Metro by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation

(DMRC),E.Shreedharan Said. But final decision has to be taken by the State Government. The meeting  about this  will conduct on 10th,Chief Minister Oomen Chandy announced.
