Trains Restored

South Central Railway started to restore the cancelled trains and the SCR published the list of restored trains. These trans were cancelled due to heavy rain and water overflowing on track between Razampeta -Pullampet and Nandalur - Mantapampalle of Gooty – Renigunta section of Guntakal Division.

Seven trains which were cancelled vide PR No. 588 issued today have now been restored to run as per the following  details.

• Train No.11018 Karaikal - LTT Express is restored.
• Train No.11041 CST Mumbai  - Chennai Central Express  is restored.
• Train No.11028 Chennai Central- CST Mumbai Express is restored.
• Train No.17651 Chennai Egmore- Kacheguda Express is restored.
• Train No.17652 Kacheguda - Chennai Egmore Express is restored.
• Train No.16381 CST Mumbai – Kanyakumari Express is restored.

SABARIMALA SPECIAL TRAINS 2015 - 2016

Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa is located at Periyar Tiger Reserve in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala. The journey to the temple is to be taken through difficult paths in the forest as the vehicles can go only up to Pampa. The temple is open during the pilgrim season known as Mandala Kaalam which falls approximately between 14th November to 27th December every year, and makaravilakku which falls in mid January each year. This is Mandala Kaalam season.

How to go to Sabarimala?

There are three ways to reach Sabarimala, by Train, by Flight and by Bus. There is no direct Railway Line connecting other towns to Sabarimala. If you prefer Train journey then you can arrive at Kottayam , Thiruvalla or Chengannur Railway stations and from there by bus to Pampa.

For other states pilgrims the best option of travel is travel via train. For them Kottayam railway station is the most convenient stop followed by Thiruvalla and Chenganur for easy access to Sabarimala. Some trains end their trip at Ernakulam which is to the northwest of Kottayam. Pilgrims getting down at Ernakulam will need to proceed to Kottayam by boarding another train for an additional journey of about 1½ hours. They may also proceed by road to reach Sabarimala. Some trains may go from Ernakulam to Kollam or Thiruvananthapuram via Alappuzha and these will not touch Kottayam. Pilgrims traveling in these trains may need to get down at Alappuzha and then proceed by road through Changanassery and Erumely, or else, may need to get down at Kayamkulam and proceed by road via Adoor. For pilgrims coming from South of Sabarimala by train, the best stations to get down are Thiruvalla or Chenganur and then travel about 90 kms by road to reach Sabarimala.

South Central Railway published the list of today cancelled trains due to water over flowing on track because of heavy rain in South India. So Railway cancelled the trains on the route including Long distance train services between the South and North / East and West of India due to water over flowing above danger level on Railway Bridge.

NORTHERN RAILWAY :: FRESH TRAIN CANCELLATION UPDATES

TRAIN BLOCK :: CANCELLATION UPDATES

Northern Railway announced fresh Train blocks and decided to extended the existing block for two days. Following are the details of Train Block.

As per earlier announcement, following trains were either cancelled partially or diverted for replacement work of broken washable apron of Platform No. 2 at Varanasi railway station for 48 days i.e. from 04.09.15 to 21.10.2015. Now it has been decided to extend the block for two days i.e. 22.10.15 and 23.10.15 for the completion of work.

So there will be a Traffic Block during the period of work and the following trains will either be short terminated at and short originate from partially cancelled or diverted temporarily upto 23.10.2015.

TRAINS PARTIALLY CANCELLED DURING TRAFFIC BLOCK on 22.10.15 and 23.10.15

• Train Nos.13346/13345 Singrauli - Varanasi Express train will be short terminated at originated from Kashi and remain partially cancelled between Kashi -Varanasi.
• Train No.55149 Gorakhpur - Manduadih Passenger train will be short terminated at Varanasi City and remain partially cancelled between Varanasi City -Manduadih.
• Train No.55132 Manduadih - Chhapra Passenger train will short originate from Varanasi City and remain partially cancelled between Manduadih - Varanasi City.
• Train No.55119 Gorakhpur - Varanasi Passenger train will be short terminated at Varanasi City and remain partially cancelled between Varanasi City - Varanasi.

SPECIAL FESTIVAL ARRANGEMENTS BY RAILWAY 2015

NORTHERN RAILWAY :: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR FESTIVAL 2015

Indian Railway is making a remarkable arrangements to control the extra rush of passengers during the Festival period. Especially Northern Railway has rolled out a comprehensive action plan with a slew of initiatives to ensure utmost safety in regulation of crowds while making sure that passenger convenience is available at stations and in trains in this hectic period. Following are the details.

• Special Trains and Augmentation

Northern Railway has planned and commenced running of 44 pairs of Special trains( total 88 trains) running on Northern Railway system in co-ordination with other Railways. Of these, there are 9 pairs of Suvidha Express trains, 29 pairs of Express specials, 3 pairs of Jansadharan Trains and 3 pairs of Passenger trains to 31 destinations.

• Monitoring of Reservation Centres

At IRCA CCTV cameras have been installed at the entrance gate and passenger half to keep a close eye on touting activities.

Display and information boards for proper guidance of passengers and for providing detail of special trains

Officers/Inspectors/Supervisors are deputed at important PRS locations

They will also ensure that counters are opened at right time.

Proper and frequent announcements are made

Token system has been introduced to streamline flow of queue

• Preventive and Decoy Checks

The Vigilance Department of Northern Railway has also earmarked the Pooja Rush period from 05.10.2015 to 20.11.2015 as a Special Drive period when intense checks are undertaken to ensure complaint free, smooth and transparent services to the passengers. Through stepping up vigil, the Vigilance teams were able to nab 95 touts during the current financial year upto 15.10.2015. The Railway Protection Force of Northern Railway is also undertaking focused efforts to curb malpractices and address issues like touting at stations. CCTVs  has so far been provided at 14 centers in Delhi area and 15 PRS centers in other than Delhi area.

• Following are some examples of Pro - active measure taken by NR

Raid of the premises of Unauthorized Tavel Agents.

For train Reservation Queue Management System introduced.

Special drive to detect illegal tickets.

Methods to prevent the misuse of various quotas.

Decoy checks and checks on unauthorized vendors.

Checks on change of name of passengers on reserved tickets. 

Special Watch on Tatkal reservation.

Monitoring of PRS centres and Tatkal counters through CCTVs.

Checks with regard to refund of PRS tickets and e-tickets

Checks on High Official Requisition Quotas.

Curbing the blocking of accommodation in unreserved coaches.

Publicity of Special trains.

Observation of hourly transaction statements of the Reservation Clerks.

All the coaches and special trains including coach attachments shall be adequately manned by TTEs.

• Security Arrangements and Crowd Managements Measures

 CCTVs under Integrated Security System have been installed on major stations and at reservation centres.

• Augmentation of the Work Force

Scouts and Civil Defence personnel were  deployed in passenger interface area to supplement the RPF/RPSF.

• Access control and Checking of Luggage

All major stations have been equipped with DFMDs. Manual luggage checking is being carried out by RPF/GRP personnel.

• Seat Cornering

Arrangements have been made to ensure that no space of coaches is encroached upon by anti social elements. 

• Special Security Arrangements at Stations and Parcel Booking Areas  

Deployment of Dog squads

Metal Detectors at all entry gates

Hand held metal detectors

Manning of all the entry gates

Mega mikes

Manila ropes at FOB and platforms

• Medical Arrangements

Special Arrangements are also made during Festival Rush by setting up First Aid posts at Delhi Jn, New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Anand Vihar Terminal stations in Delhi.

• Other Special Arrangements

Special trains have been distributed at the 4 major terminals to avoid overcrowding.

Platform for all the trains including specials are fixed during entire festival rush period. Change will be done only with the approval of DRM. 

An action plan has been issued to all branches during rush.
