BULLET TRAINS IN INDIA :: DISCUSSION BETWEEN INDIA AND JAPAN
India seek the cooperation and advice from Japan about the starting of Bullet Trains in India. Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi discussed about this to the Japanese Minister Takeshi Maeda,last day he met Trivedi in India.The Railway Budget of 2010-2011 had planned for the starting of NHSRA (National High Speed Rail Authority)for planning,standard setting,implementing and monitoring of High Speed Rail projects. After this both countries were trying for the implementation of this project. In 2011 Indian Railway officers visited Japan to understand the Shinkansen System (network of high-speed railway lines in Japan-also known as Bullet Train). After this Japanese Director General for International Affairs, Ryuhei Maeda had visited Trivedi and Railway Board officers in Delhi in October last year.
Indian Railway selected Six High-Speed rail corridor for conducting further studies,the places are mentioned below:
- Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar,
- Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad,
- Hyderabad-Dornakal-Vijaywada-Chennai,
- Chennai-Bangalore-Coimbatore-Ernakulam-Trivandrum,
- Howrah-Haldia
- Delhi-Agra-Lucknow-Varanasi.
