All Kerala Chicken Merchants and Commission Agencies Association have decided to go for a Chicken strike in following days. The strike is against the increase of the Sales Tax on the poultry. No other states in the country has sales tax on chicken, in Kerala, the sale tax imposed on chicken is 13.5%", Association President said.
Hotel and restaurants in Kerala have already decided to stop serving Chicken to the Customers from February 7th onwards as against the hike in price.
